Question: Abu Garcia Revo STX baitcasting reel?

I'm planning to get a baitcasting reel and I'm kinda interested in the Revo STX. But I'm still open to Daiwa and Shimano range which is around that price. Any recommendations? I'm just a beginner in baitcast reel, but I think it is better to get a good one as a long term 'investment'. Any opinions or info?

Answer: I have been fishing with baitcasting reels for some 40 years and have tried just about every maker out there. I settled long time ago for Shimano Curados and they were all I used .
Then when the revos came out couple years back I purchased one to check out all the buzz about them and guess what ...?

I took my curados and I sold em all, ...and then bought revos that should tell you all you need to know about the revos.....lol smoothest reels around at the price point hands down...

I use them for all my applications minus my flippin outfits those are armed with 4600c also made by abu

Question: Just got Abu Garcia Revo S...what is the difference of the S, STX or other "S" models?

Im waiting for mine to arrive I cant wait... what line should I get for it... mono or floro... Im looking for long casts and accuracy... 10lbs or so...

Answer: You can't go wrong on either of these models. The SX & STX have a break adjustment on the outside, the S model on the other hand can only be adjusted by taking the side plates off. Also, the SX & STX come with the hi speed versions. I've use both models and find that the SX & STX cast a little better than the S model expecially against the wind.
