Question: For the Fishing pro's!! What are some good fishing rods that come with their reels?
I wanted to buy one at wal-mart but then i just heard that walmart dont have really good rods and reels! or is it not true? then if not what are some good brands? and if not in walmart where else can i buy one? thanks in advance!!
Answer: WRONG!!!
It seems like everybody thinks that just because there is a brand name store in the neighborhood that it's the only place you should buy your gear, and that is NOT TRUE!
You should do your homework for yourself, after all, it's your buck that your spending, right?
I've bought some of the higher priced rods, and reels over the years, and if your looking for a specific rod, (identified by it's weight, class, speed, or length) then yes, by all means go to the store that carries that brand, and make your selection.
That being said, let's look at the other side of the coin. After I wound up breaking my second St. Croix rod, (and the 1st one was my favorite), on the 3rd cast, I decided to change gears, and see what was available on the lower end of the market, so I went to Walmart just to see if they possibly had something tough enough without costing me an arm, leg, or both.
Rod: openface, "Rhino" "Indestructible" rod 6' to 7'2",
Cost - $20.00
Reel: openface, Shakespeare 10 ballbearing
Cost - $35.00
Line: Braided Spiderwire 20 lb test (has the diameter of 6lb mono) 110 yds.
Cost - $12.00I now have a total of seven of these rods, (one broke with a fish on, one has a lost guide at the tip, but for $20.00, I'll buy a new one until I need to mix & match) which I use consistently.
I have 3 of the ten ballbearing Shakespeare reels, one Daiwa, one Shimano, one Okuma, and a couple of others that match, but I'm at a loss as to what brand they are right this minute. I also like and use my big ol' yellow EagleClaw rod, that is also outfitted with a 10 ballbearing reel, in addition to my catfishing, (3), walleye and striper,(5), and panfish rigs, (4), plus at least 10 or more rods and reels that date back about 25 years that are broke, or that I've decided that I don't care to use any more.
Identify the type species of fish that you are fishing for, select your gear, find out who's selling it for the best price. Who knows? You just might find what you want is at a local Mom & Pop baitshop in your locale, instead of the higher priced brand name stores. One of my finds, was a matched pair of Abu levelwinds from the 50's, which I purchased from a friend for $40.00, and included was an old JC Higgins flytying kit from the 40's, so don't rule out garage sales by any means, cause that is where he got them from.

Answer: NFS Carbon, of course.
Carbon definitely has better gameplay. Its story, which unfolds slowly, is about how you "betrayed" the street racers and got away with a lot of money. But it wasn't you(the player), though everybody except a few believe so.You're trying to find out who it really is. I don't wanna tell who it is as its a MAJOR spoiler.
And that bit about challenging - you'll find the canyon races sooooooo challenging sometimes that you'll wanna quit.
Customisation is great too.
Prostreet, on the other hand, was a DISASTER. Its considered one of the "downs" in the NFS series. It got really sad ratings from most of the gaming sites - 7/10 from Gamespot.

Salmon Fishing Tips
I have had the pleasure of fishing for salmon in Alaska. It was a thrilling experience!
To see 3 feet long Silver's in a stream surrounded by 10,000+ foot mountains is something you dream about.
If you have fished for salmon anywhere and they are spawning you know they aren't all that easy to catch as they aren't feeding only intent on
running up stream to their spawning spot. So it takes some patience and good timing as well as knowing where and when they are running.
But for any fisherman, this is one of the ultimate experiences!
Here are a few tips:
Your First Pole:
The most important piece of equipment is a fishing pole of course! The best place to purchase a pole is at a real Pro Shop or bait and tackle shop.
Pro shops usually have a generous return policy. If you get a pole that is not comfortable for you, too stiff or too flexible, too long or too short, they will generally exchange it for a pole that will work better for you.
Bottom line, they want your return business for other things like bait and tackle.
The Place:
The best place to fish for salmon is in the river when they come up to spawn. The local Pro Shop should be happy to provide you with the best times for fishing salmon.
Salmon spawn at different times and come up the rivers at different intervals throughout the season. So, planning is important if you want to
actually fish when the salmon are spawning. You can get alot of good information with a subscription to Alaska magazine or do a search online for the location you are interested in.
The Boat:
Best case scenario is to have a flat bottom river boat, but those are expensive. It may not be a good idea to take a regular "V" hull lake boat into the river because the depths can be too shallow and unpredictable.
Another wonderful way to experience your first salmon trip is by hiring a guide. You'll learn more from the guide then on your own. It can be pricey, but it's worth it. Alaska guides generally charge $200/day per person.
No boat? No worries. Fishing from shore is a wonderful way to experience this fantastic hobby as well. Get some waders and watch out for the slippery rocks!
The Bait:
Ask the Pro's at the Pro Shop what works best in your area or the area you are going to fish. They will most likely suggest salmon eggs. They are cured in many different ways and everyone has their favorite.
You may wonder why you would want to use salmon eggs. It's very simply really. After salmon spawn, the parent fish stay around the nest to protect the eggs from predators like trout.
The currents will also carry the eggs away. When this happens the parent fish gently pick the eggs in their mouth and bring them back to the nest.
So, when you dangle salmon eggs in the water after the salmon have spawned, they will see the eggs and assume that some have floated out of the nest. When they go to retrieve them, they get hooked!
The Catch:
Take along an ice chest filled with ice to keep your catch fresh. You may want to have a couple of five gallon buckets as well. One bucket for cleaning your catch. Another bucket to keep the ready-to-eat gutted and cleaned salmon in.
If you clean it before you take it home, you avoid the smelly bloody mess in your kitchen. Many rivers in Alaska, Kenai, Russian, Montana, Bird…have fish cleaning facilities.
A third bucket could be used to save salmon eggs gutted from a female. You can save the egg sack and cure it later. You can learn more about how to cure the eggs, or roe, online or talk to someone in your local Pro Shop for suggestions.
The Filleting:
You can cut your fish in two ways, steaks or fillets. Salmon steaks are the easiest way to cut them up. Filleting takes a little more practice. You will
probably mangle the first few you try to fillet. Don't let that bother you. All those little mangled pieces can be smoked and turned into a salmon dip.

The Cooking:
There are many ways to cook salmon. Pan fry, BBQ, roasted or even smoked. If you do decide to smoke your salmon pieces, be sure not to over dry
them.
Here's a simple recipe for salmon dip.
One cup smoked salmon
Two 8 oz packages of cream cheese
Half cup chopped onion
Salt, pepper, garlic, to taste

Question: how big should my smallmouth bass lures be?
i have cranks ranging from one 3inch crank and alot or 4 inchers and 5 inchers but it includes the bill that makes it dive otherwise the painted main body part would be 3-4 inches and a few 6 inch cranks. not to mention 8 inch slim worms 6 inch senkos and a few 4 inch senkos. will all these work for a smallmouth bass? any recomendations? and how can i possibly cast with a baitcaster with small inline spinners and small cranks? looks hard to do with my cheap baitcaster (its a quantum response 50dallor baitcaster)
Answer: It is possible to use a baitcaster for smaller lures, but it always isn't easy. I sometimes use 6" Plastic Worms with 1/8oz weights with a baitcaster, and I can get the lure a fairly good distance. Weightless senko's can be used with baitcasting equipment, too, they are quite heavy. If you are really having trouble tossing lighter lures (and have tried adjusting your tension knob AND brake) then it would just be best to use a spinning rod/reel combo that you have or picking up a cheap one just to use until you can get something better. Heck, $30 - $40 can get one that will last more than a few trips if cleaned properly.
Those 4" senko's will work excellent, and the 3" crankbaits may work as well. Heck, if one of these fiesty smallmouth's are hungry enough, they will hit even the bigger crankbaits. Just keep trying different lures until you find one that the smallmouth's are liking. I personally like crayfish colored baits for them, crankbaits, tubes, Plastic Worms, plastic lizards, are in a color with a lot of brown, red, and black included. A 6" Culprit "original" plastic worm in crayfish color may work excellent for smallmouth's.

Fishing the Pocomoke River with a Professional Largemouth Bass Fishing Guide
The Eastern Shore of Maryland has several fantastic rivers for bass fishing including the Pocomoke, Wicomico, Nanticoke and Choptank Rivers. Anglers fish from private boats or fish with a local guide for largemouth bass and other freshwater fish in these waterways.
The Pocomoke River is one of the most popular fishing locations in Maryland, especially on the Delmarva peninsula. It starts as a small non-tidal stream and meanders down to the Chesapeake Bay. Guides offer fishing and site seeing charters year round on the Pocomoke, even in the winter months. Cold water fishing begins after thanksgiving to around the second week in March and can be surprisingly very good. Largemouth bass are a cold-blooded fish so their body temperature is the same as the water temperature for the most part.
Largemouth bass of the Pocomoke River avoid heavy current and prefer backwater areas where they can suspend and conserve energy in cold conditions. They might only feed a couple of days a week due to their slow metabolism so slower presentations with your baits are critical. Targeting areas like oxbows, marinas, cuts or ponds give winter anglers access to warmer water and low current. Guides focus on local conditions for success. For example, the sun hits the north and northwest shores most on the river in winter so your guide may target these areas looking for warmer water. A water temperature gauge is also useful for winter bass fishing on the Pocomoke. Cool water lures include spin baits, crank baits, jigs and senkos.
The next phase of fishing occurs in late March thru June. This period includes all phases of the spawn. Fishing guides look for spawning areas such as coves, flats and backwater areas. Bass fishermen also seek out deeper water with cover leading to spawning habitat. The pre-spawn fishing can be great around this structure. Water temperatures for pre-spawn, spawn and post-spawn can vary greatly, so guides often suggest checking the spawning areas and migration routes leading to and away from them on every trip this time of year. Keep in mind bass prefer a sandy or hard bottom and must have sunlight to aid in hatching the eggs. Hard river bottoms are rare on this river but bass will make due with the best they can find. Productive lures during this period are senkos, tubes, lizards and flukes.
Summer is a favorite fishing season on the Pocomoke River as the fish are very active. The river is tidal which affects where fish congregate. A good low tide is at least three feet down. In summer this river is notorious for only dropping a foot or less and quickly filling back to high tide. Northeast winds usually back up water at the mouth of the river and it’s a good bet the next couple of days after that will be really high tides. Largemouth bass can still be caught by adapting to the conditions. Anglers can find containment areas like bulk heads, walls or high river banks the higher tides cannot get past. This holds the fish in an area you can still access. Also skipping baits like senkos and frogs on the flooded shorelines, creeks and pad fields will still produce. If you are lucky enough to get a good low tide, fish wood close to the channel drops, pad line drops and creeks with jigs, senkos, spinner baits and crank baits.
Fall is another preferred time to fish the Pocomoke River. The bass are not affected as much by cold fronts and very active in feeding up for tough days ahead. This is a great time to run way up the creeks like Nassawango and even further north above the Snow Hill Bridge. An experienced guide will cover lots of water in fall with crank baits, spin baits and buzz baits. Senkos, jigs and worms are always good for the tougher days in fall with high barometric pressures.
