I have only fished with Live Bait, and i want to know how to fish with Plastic Worms.
thanksAnswer: Artificial worms are one of my favorite bass lures to use. Here's my setup:

Size 3/0 Worm hook (any brand will work, but here's what it looks like)

Fish it SLOW. When I use an artificial worm I don't really reel it in. I give it a small jerk then let the lure sit there for 3 seconds or so, and repeat. Most of the bites you'll get are either right after you cast while the bait is sinking or about 3 seconds after you give the lure a jerk. When you cast out the lure, pay close attention to your line. If you can tell a fish is swimming away with your lure, DON'T PULL until you can feel the fish on the end of your line, then set the hook. Otherwise if you try and set the hook with slack line, you wont hook the fish.

You'll want to use a "Bullet Weight." The size weight you will want to use depends on the heaviness of the lure and the depth of the water you are trying to reach. You can get a pack of Bullet Weights at Wal-Mart that has a few different sizes in it for $2-$3. But here's what they look like:

You said you know how to rig it, so I won't go into too much detail there, but I would try out three different methods. They are:
Weighted Texas rig
Carolina rig
Weightless Texas rig.another useful rig to know is the Drop-shot rig.

Question: where to hook a fish for Live Bait?
what part of the body of a fish do i hook it if i want to use it as Live Bait? and also how do i hook it? like the tail? head? mouth?
i am trying to catch stripers off a pier
Answer: It depends on how you are fishing it.
If you are throwing the Live Bait without any weight and allowing it to swim, you want to hook it in the tail so it can swim as naturally as possible.
If you are casting and retrieving it, hook it through the lips.
For a weighted setup, I would either go through the lips or the back.
Always try to avoid hitting the spine when you hook Live Bait to avoid paralyzing the fish.

Question: Can i go fishing and use live lizards as bait?
I live in florida and i have no worms, i know i can use hot dogs as bait for bass and other fish, but there are a ton of lizards right outside my door.
Can i use lizards as bait on my hook?Answer: Hook the lizard through the lip and fly line it. No sinker.
When you're casting it, gently toss it out, don't cast so hard. That's how a lot of them get off.

Question: what size hook,bait and weight do i use to catch stripers or crappies?
i'm new at fishing and i have not much knowledge of what i'm doing.I've been trying to catch some crappies and stripers at the lake.I really need to know when do i use a float and when not to.And i also need to know what size weights and what size hooks to use when casting for these types of fish?What advice or trick can you help me with in these situations?I appreciate all the advice you'll can give me.
Answer: Crappie is #6 long shank with 4/6 pound line. Strippers can weigh up to 60#, you need 3/0 to 7/0 hooks & 20# up line. I landed a 5# stripper on a crappie rig once but it was very hard.

Question: Keeping smallfry from eating up all your bait?
Is there any way/technique from keeping fish like sunnies and pumpkin seed from taking all your bait off the hook when your trying to target bigger fish?
Answer: Simple: Use a bigger bait. Anything from little sunfish to big bass will eat worms or other small baits, or big baits that can be picked apart, and since there are usually a lot more sunfish than bass around, you won't get many bass with the small baits. So send out a minnow or whatever the bigger bait available in your area is. You won't get as many bites, but you won't be bothered by the small fry.

Question: Swim Bait Hooks?
I just bought some Luck E Strike 5.5" Bass Magic Swimbaits. I also bought some Mustad Power Lock weighted 4/0 hooks for them. After waiting for the hooks for weeks because they were back-ordered, I discovered, the gap was way too small. Does anyone have any suggestions on some good weighted hooks to use with this bait?
The largest ones they make like these are 5/0 and I am worried the gap will be too small on those too.

Answer: I have the same swimbaits, and was pleased to find out that Wal-mart has Lake Fork swimbait hooks from sizes 3/0 to 7/0. These are the best hooks I have EVER used with the Bass Magic baits. Bass Pro has the Bass Magics and on the same aisle they also have the Lake Fork hooks (usually on a small display next to the Bass Magic) but they're 2 bucks cheaper at wal-mart! The Weight is fixed to the hook, it doesn't slide. The only swimbait hooks I use,extra Wide Gap, they're perfect!
