Question: math help plzz..?

We changed the water in our fish tank, and need to add some acid to bring the water to the right pH. we did not have any tool to measure pH, but our neighbor has a kit for his swimming pool and told us that if our aquarium held 10,000 gallons we would need 6 gallons of acid. however our aquarium only holds 6 gallons of water. How many teaspoons of acid do we need? Plz Show ALLL WORK. THNKU
Answer: first you need to know the acid to water percentage level,
to do so you only need to divide 6gallons to 10000gallons
which is 0.0006 and that is multiply this by 100 to get the percentage which is equal to 0.06% that is the percentage acidity of the solution.
next step is to find how mush is 0.06% of 6 gallons
to find out,
you only need to multiply 0.0006 to 6 gallons
which is:
0.0036 gallons
that is the total amount of acid you need to put to the tank for the right ph level
but then the unit is still in gallons
now you need to convert it to teaspoon
take note that 1 gallon = 768 teaspoon
that is us standard measurements
now to convert it to gallons:
0.0036gallons*768teaspoons/1 gallons
the gallons cancel out
and you have:
2.7648 teaspoons of acid
